Seahawks Injury Report 10/8/2014

Seahawks Injury
Report October 8, 2014
Marshawn Lynch
Marshawn Lynch started the game on the sidelines and that
left many people concerned. Lynch was held out due to back spasms and was
riding the exercise bike trying to loosen up a bit.  Lynch was able to get on the field the second
drive and do what Marshawn Lynch does: produce. Lynch carried the ball 17 times
for 72 yards and added 5 receptions for another 45 yards and a TD.  Lynch is 28 years old and “reaching father
time” but the way Pete Carroll has managed him over the last few years, there
is no reason to believe that he can’t continue to produce at a high level for
2-3 more years.  Marshawn did not
participate in practice today as usual but did participate in the team’s
walkthrough. He will play Sunday.
Max Unger
Max Unger left the game with a foot injury and was replaced
by Steve Schilling. While Unger was able to return to the game, he was held out
of practice with what is being called a strained foot. He will be listed as
day-to-day. Unger has been faced with many injuries over the last couple of
years and every time he is held out, we see additional issues with the
offensive line. As a unit, they have not met expectations this year, as Russell
Wilson is scrambling more than ever. Unger is one of the best centers in the
league and losing him could leave a big hole up the middle for Dallas to attack
on Sunday. Other members of the line are going to have to step up production to
fill the void.
Alvin Bailey
With Zach Miller out for a few more games, the loss of Alvin
Bailey may be more crucial than we originally thought. Although a backup, Bailey
is versatile and able to play multiple positions on the line. With experience
at tackle and guard, the hope is he will be able to return this week against Dallas.
The tight ends on the active roster have weaknesses with blocking and so
getting Bailey back and healthy to provide an extra blocker up front will be a
major priority of Tom Cable and the coaching staff.
