I don’t get the concern over Penny and where he was picked. Let’s evaluate it after the season and see whether the Seahawks’ bet on improving their run game, which is clearly and obviously a priority, pays off.
Going into the season with Carson and CJ as the primary options would invite a repeat of 2017 if one or both are once again injured. If Penny is taking 1/3 of the lead TB carries from Carson, and adding value on KR, that may be enough to make him very valuable to the Seahawks this year. If either Carson or CJ go down, Penny will shine as the replacement.

Wait for the 1-st preseason game before declaring in such positive terms that Penny isn’t the RB#1. Carson may start but Penny will finish that 1-st preseason game and every game thereafter. That is why he was picked in the 1-st round of the draft. Believe!!!!!!

Yes, JimQ, I agree with you–Penny will look better during live drills than he does in practice. It isn’t a bad thing for Penny and Carson to share the RB#1 snaps though. They both need to be relatively fresh and uninjured for a long playoff run!! I do think it that Penny’s value (ba-dump) will be clear by the end of the season.
