Unger, Burley, Helfet Inactive Today

The Seahawks will again be without tight end Cooper Helfet today against San Francisco, leaving the productive Tony Moeaki to start. Max Unger continues to recover from knee and ankle injuries this week, so look for Lemuel Jeanpierre to continue solidly filling in at center.

With Jeremy Lane, Tharold Simon, and Byron Maxwell all healthy, that leaves Marcus Burley the odd man out today at cornerback. He’s a healthy scratch. Simon is likely to start again opposite Richard Sherman, with Maxwell sliding in to cover the slot. Maxwell will see a lot of Anquan Boldin today.

Oddly enough, WR Kevin Norwood is inactive. What we heard this week about Chris Matthews getting some red zone looks may be the plan today, but choosing to sit Norwood is a curious move. He catches everything thrown at him, and has the size to match up well against the 49ers’ DBs.

Full list of inactives:

Helfet, Burley, Unger, DT Travian Robertson, WR Kevin Norwood, TE RaShaun Allen and DL Demarcus Dobbs

WR Stevie Johnson, QB Josh Johnson, OT Anthony Davis, CB Tramaine Brock, C Marcus Martin, S Ray Ventrone and RCB Chris Culliver
