I started this blog in 2007 with a simple goal of finding people who shared my outsized passion for the Seattle Seahawks. Eighteen years later, I made the decision to turn this into my full-time job. A non-negotiable aspect of that decision was to keep charity and giving as a core part of what we do. Today, I am pleased to announce that HawkBlogger.com is making an additional $20,000 in charitable donations, bringing the 2025 total to $30,000, and the grand total over the life of this work to $320,000.
The majority of our donations through the years have been to Ben’s Fund. We made a donation to Ben’s Fund earlier this year, while continuing a new tradition of spreading the donations across other charities, piggy backing on the NFL’s My Cause My Cleats initiative that allows players to pick a charity to champion by wearing custom cleats designed for their cause.
Four Seahawks were selected to each have $5,000 donated to their cause.
Mike Macdonald

Macdonald picked the RYR-1 Foundation, which does research on rare diseases. His nephew as a rare form of muscular dystrophy that the foundation is working on.
Macdonald has had a massive impact on this Seahawks team, and we hope to help him make an impact beyond the field with a $5,000 donation to the RYR-1 Foundation. Please consider adding on here.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba

The JSN Family Foundation is brand new. Smith-Njigba started it to give back to kids who are less privileged.
We are excited to support The JSN Family Foundation. You can learn about the foundation here.
Ernest Jones IV

Ernest Jones IV has become an instant fan favorite in Seattle with his play and passion on the field and his leadership. He always has his teammates backs, so we wanted to have his with a donation to the charity of his choice, Wings for Ewing Sarcoma. Jones lost his father to this disease this year.
It is our pleasure to donate $5,000 to Wings for Ewing Sarcoma. You can add your donation to the cause here.
A.J. Barner

Yes, A.J. Barner is a lot taller than me. He’s also a terrific player and a good guy. Barner has become a leader in his second season with the team, and has made contributions not only at tight end, but as the player in the middle of the Seahawks version of the Tush Push, called the Barnyard. Barner selected the Ronald McDonald House as his charity.
We hope our $5,000 donation will help add more A.J. Barner’s to the world. You can donate here.
Chasing $1M
We would love to eventually donate $1M to charity through our work at Hawk Blogger. That will require a mix of longevity and growing our blog, our shows and our business.
You can support what we are doing by becoming a patron at Patreon.com/HawkBlogger, becoming a YouTube member, or joining as a sponsor. You can also help by simply reading, watching, clicking the Like button, and spreading the word.
This would not be possible without the amazing team of people who have committed their time, free of charge, to our YouTube shows and to this blog.
Evan Hill, Jeff Simmons, Nathan Ernst, Dayna O’Gorman, Josh Cashman, Deryck Gebe, Will Hart, and Brayden Mills have made even the toughest Seahawks seasons a pleasure. I could not do this without them.
I would also like to thank our sponsors: JK Boots, Simply Seattle, StubHub, and Sleeper. I would also like to thank all our patrons and YouTube members. All of this support makes donations like this possible.
If you would like to learn more about the money side of what we are doing here at HawkBlogger since I made this my full-time gig, you can watch a video I posted here where I share more details about my philosophy.
Thank you to everyone who continues to read, watch, and share our content. The Seahawks are building a championship team one day at a time, and we plan to be there every step of the way.
