What the hell happened? The teachers in my kids school district are striking. People at work are causing so many fire drills that I have started wearing asbestos boxers and my favorite sports team got so pummeled on opening day that I felt the need to take a breather.

Now I come back to find we released Jordan Kent, Justin Forsett, and Ryan Plackemeier and that Rob Sims is out for the season with a knee injury. AAAnnd the best player to add at WR is some guy named Billy McMullen?

Can we start over? Hi, my name is Hawkblogger. I like long walks on the beach and obsessing over minute details involving the Seattle Seahawks. Who are you, and what have you done with my team?

Quick hitters:

– Rob Sims: See ya. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out. I’m not sure we can do worse. Better hope Mansfield Wrotto is practicing REAL hard because Pork Chop never lasts more than a game or two before getting injured.

– Jordan Kent: Huh? What? Why? The guy that showed the most during the preseason that plays Nate Burleson’s position got released? Holmgren was always cautious about positive feedback and Kent. Maybe there are things in practice we don’t see. We really are going to keep Coutu over this guy?

– Plack: Please let the door hit you on the way out, punk. You suck.

– Forsett: We knew it was happening. I think we’re safe with him. Not worth more insight.

I know, it’s been a stunning week. The hits just keep on coming, don’t they? The Kent thing surprised me too, he looked good in PS and I thought he’d be a “sleeper” on the WR squad. Frankly, CT has been a disappointment despite all the hype surrounding him. I just hope we can struggle to two wins before the bye and then get some people healthy for the week following (Hello Mr. Branch!).

As much as I didn’t want to believe it, your difficulty seeing the weaknesses in the team have proven to be pretty true. Sigh.

Sorry, I meant, you COULD see the weakness in the team and I wanted to see only the good.

Glass half full here but at the moment it seems someone has drunk all the yummy margarita and just left the lime….

hey hawkgirl. I’m as guilty as anyone about not seeing the weaknesses, or at least the severity of them. I have to admit my confidence is shaken after what I saw this weekend.

We need that running game to be strong on Sunday.

Don’t count on anything. the whole league now knows we cannot handle an 8 man line. we will continue seeing it until we prove that we got it handled. Sims had to go. he was worthless. Plack wasn’t as bad as you might think compared to other punters in the league. We may have gotten better but don’t count on it till we see for sure.
Cutting Kent and Forsett make no sense to me but i coundn’t see the second half so i don’t know if Kent messed up or not.
If we win 1 of the next 2 I will be surprised. If Holmy cannot change his tactics faster in either of those games to adjust game plans that may not be working then he is asleep at the wheel and just awaiting retirement.
Don’t get me wrong, I love big mike but i am afraid he is already dreaming of whatever he plans to do after the season is over instead of adjusting our teams needs as they happen on the field.

Wow, What a week in camp Seahawk. I thought it was going to be a tough game for the Seachickens on Sunday but I didn’t think it would get that ugly.
I can’t believe they released Kent! What the hell are they thinking….I know Kent is unproven but to release him and than not even give him a chance to tryout with a group of no-namers to make the squad is stupidity! I think Holmgren might have caught a case of short-timers and is ready for retirement sooner than he thought.
On a positive note the Ducks are 2-0 heading into a big game with Purdue this weekend and it looks like Jeremiah Johnson will play with the dislocated shoulder.
Hawkblogger, it may be a good time for you to jump on the Duck badwagon to ease your Seahawk pain!

Nothing he does with the Hawks will haunt Holmgren for weeks to come.

Take heart, Duckster, we signed another Duck in Sammie Parker.
